Several solid "Babylonian wealth principles" are covered. You should read it if you haven't yet. All the parables are solid but one of them struck a chord with me. On the bottom of page 56, you'll find these words: <br /> <br /> "Men of action are favored by the Goddess of Good Luck." <br /> <br /> Women of action are most certainly favored by the Goddess of Good Luck too...a sexist I'm not. In any event, it's not the God of Good Luck. It's the Goddess of Good Luck and those are the words from the book. <br /> <br /> Contrary to what all the whiners of the world think, successful people don't become successful purely on luck. They got off their butts and took action...and the Goddess of Good Luck favors people who take action. It's not just a Babylonian parable. It's a fact. <br /> <br /> Like the old adage says, luck is when preparation meet opportunity. And there is such abundant opportunity in the world, the only excuses for not taking advantage are ignorance and laziness. Ignorance results in the inability to notice the abundant opportunities available. It's unlikely that people who lack the requisite preparedness will ever meet opportunity. Which is to say they'll never get "lucky." <br /> <br /> All it takes is a little effort but that seems to be asking too much of most people...the unsuccessful ones. People generally love to talk about themselves so just ask a successful person how they got to be so successful and they'd probably love to tell you their story. If not, find another successful person and ask him or her. The biographies of successful people are also freely available at public libraries. <br /> <br /> Woody Allen said half of success is just showing up and he's probably right. He was actually hanging out in places where actors get hired. He wasn't sitting on the sofa in front of the idiot box dreaming about becoming an actor. He is a man of action, the type favored by the Goddess of Good Luck. And surprise, since he just showed up at a place where actors are hired, he got "lucky" and found an acting gig as an extra. A short time later he was cast as Han Solo in Star Wars and it turned out that was just the beginning.
