Although there are a huge number of pet owners in America, most fail to see a reason to have pet insurance; to date this peculiarity remains somewhat of a mystery. The average US citizen would not neglect their own health insurance plan, so should we be forgiven for not caring enough about our beloved dogs then?
Perhaps it sounds like another unnecessary expense to you, but imagine being hit with a four figure bill if your pet gets unexpectedly sick or injured! In the last ten years there have been innumerable areas that have seen price rises and veterinarian treatments are amongst them. What this means is pet insurance companies have had no option but to pass on this additional cost.
If the ever-increasing cost of pet insurance cover does not convince you to act, what will? The problem is that dogs are often more liable to be involved in an accident or become sick; this can happen at any time and usually when money may be tight!
It was a huge shock to a colleague of mine when the vet informed him of the cost to treat their dog some time ago. He had to race around attempting to locate the money that was required, and confided to me that he wondered whether it was worth the expense, considering that there was only a 50 per cent chance that the treatment would work. What a terrible position to be in to be thinking things like that about your beloved pet.
If you are in this unenviable position then a choice may have to be made; and no pet owner should have to think about how much your pet's is going to cost.
The financial aspect of looking after a pet is something that must be considered carefully, and is even more important if you are stretched financially. You may have other pressing financial commitments to attend to so raising further capital can sometimes be a problem.
When money is a major problem, you are more likely to give your pet the bare-minimum of care; fortunately having a pet insurance plan in place prevents this from happening. Vet bills could escalate but pet insurance policies are still the best option; for much less than forty dollars per month cost of your pet's medical care is assured.
